We are seeking a licensed optician to join our clinical team. The role is ideal for someone who values patient care, precision, and work-life balance in a calm professional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret prescriptions and collaborate closely with optometrists
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection, based on lifestyle and visual needs
- Measure, fit, and adjust eyewear for optimal vision and comfort
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care
- Process and manage eyewear orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain dispensary inventory and support daily operations
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, patient-centered service
Qualifications:
- Licensed optician
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient satisfaction
- Comfortable with optical software and modern lens technologies

- Prescription interpretation

The purpose of the position is to provide superior customer service by directly working with patients. You will be recommending and selling products to them based on their needs and the Optometrist’s recommendations, problem solving issues which patients bring up to you, and working in a team environemtent to meet and exceed company sales goals.
Sales, Dispensing and Repairs
- Comfortable selling high end frames and ophthalmic lenses.
- Able to take accurate frame measurements.
- Able to choose frames based on cosmetic and medical needs.
- Able to process insurance claims on all insurance platforms.
- Experience using Optosys software is an asset.
- Able to accurately adjust and repair glasses based on patient's needs.
- Be able to solve patient's problems with their glasses and address them accurately.
Customer Service
- Able to effectivley communicate with patients and provide a high level of customer service.
Pre-Testing
- Be able to use all pre-testing equipment in an accurate and timely manner to be able to support pre-testing and admin staff if necessary.
Edging and Back End Stock
- Edging experience is an asset but not required.
- Keeping track of patient orders and following up with labs and patients.
- Managing contact lens trial inventory.
Store Maintenance
Able and willing to take on any cleaning duties with the rest of the team
