Fleetwood Family Eye Care is looking for a full-time optician to join our growing practice. We are a fun clinic with awesome patients and have been serving the Fleetwood neighborhood of Surrey for over 25 years! Please note that at least 1 year of experience as an optician is required.
The position is Tuesday to Saturday with no evenings and paid long weekends off!
We offer a fun and professional work environment, competitive wages, health benefit package, and we also pay for your annual licensing dues (if you hold an active optician license but a license is not required). Wages start at $ 27.00/Hour.
Excellent customer/patient service is a must as we strive to provide a fun family-like
atmosphere. Also, knowledge of I-File computer software is an asset.
Responsibilities will include frame and lens selection, frame adjustments and repairs, ordering frames and more. Administrative duties will include but not limited to answering phones and booking appointments.

Here's what your role will look like:
- Greet patients
- Analyze patient's optical and eyeglass prescription
- Assist patients in their choice of frames and optical products
- Ensure measurements, comfort and adjustment of patients' eyeglasses
- Provide advice on the care and handling of contact lenses and optical products
- Verify, cut and mount ophthalmic lenses in our optical laboratory
- Verify, validate and track supplier orders
- Resolve optical problems, repair eyeglasses and provide after-sales service
- Meet with optical representatives
- Manage credits and returns
- Manage inventories
- Perform other related tasks
Desired profile
- Optician or student in Optics and Eyewear or Diploma of dispensing optician / Optics and Eyewear
- Member of the Ordre des opticiens d'ordonnances du Québec

- Perform lensometry and final inspection on completed jobs
- Educate patients about types of lenses, advantages and coatings

- Assist with dispensing, adjusting, repairs and adapting to glasses
- Provide excellent customer service and address all patient needs

REQUIREMENTS:
- Optical dispensing experience is a requirement for the position
- Applicants must be able to work in Canada legally
- Applicants must live in the Kamloops, BC area and be available for an in-person meeting
