The Patient Care Coordinator is the welcoming face of Bayview Vision — the first person patients see and the last impression they leave with. This role combines warm, professional patient interaction with a broad range of administrative responsibilities to keep our fast paced, dynamic clinic running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Experience: Greet and welcome patients with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive and welcoming environment from the moment they enter.
- Administrative Duties: Answer telephones, schedule appointments, respond to inquiries, and handle patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Billing and Insurance: Process payments, manage direct billing with insurance providers, and assist patients with any payment inquiries.
- Records Management: Maintain and update patient accounts and records, including personal, financial, and medical information, with strict confidentiality.
- Pre-Testing Support: Assist the optometrist with pre-testing duties and manage contact lens orders to ensure timely service.
- Process Improvement: Be an active team player, contributing to our clinic’s continuous improvement by helping refine procedures as we grow.
Qualifications
- A welcoming, friendly demeanor with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Experience in a medical office or similar setting is an asset but not required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Willingness to learn new skills, adapt to new technologies, and grow with the team.

Work Environment
This is an in-person clinic role. Bayview Vision operates Monday to Saturday and includes front desk support for our Vision Therapy department.

Southgate Eye Care is looking to add an optician to our team!
This is a part time position, Wednesday and Friday, in Dundalk, ON.
There is the potential of adding additional days at our office in Markdale, and, as our Dundalk location expands.
Job responsibilities include:
- selecting and dispensing appropriate eyewear to patients
- meeting with lens and frame reps to select new products
- contact lens teach appointments
- appointment scheduling and pretesting as needed (this is typically done by optometric assistants)
Here's what the role looks like:

- Assist patients in their choice of frames and optical products
- Ensure measurements, comfort and adjustment of patients' eyeglasses
- Provide advice on the care and handling of contact lenses and optical products
- Verify, cut and mount ophthalmic lenses in our optical laboratory
- Verify, validate and track supplier orders
- Resolve optical problems, repair eyeglasses and provide after-sales service
- Meet with optical representatives
- Manage credits and returns
- Manage inventories
- Perform other related tasks

- Optician or student in Optics and Eyewear or Diploma of dispensing optician / Optics and Eyewear
- Member of the Ordre des opticiens d'ordonnances du Québec
- Communication skills (French and English, verbal and written)
