A fast-paced, friendly, and fashion-forward optical studio is seeking a motivated and professional Optician to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional retail service and support to clients selecting eyewear.
• Accurately frame, measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames according to written optical prescriptions or specifications.
• Offer expert advice on lens types, frame styles, and eyewear products tailored to individual patient needs.
• Conduct adjustments, repairs, and follow-up care for customers’ eyewear.
• Maintain the professional appearance and cleanliness of the optical studio.
• Assist with lab work including edging and minor repairs (experience required).
• Build lasting rapport with customers through product knowledge and a caring, consultative approach.
• Demonstrate urgency and attentiveness in meeting customer needs and expectations.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optical retail environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with optical theory and dispensing practices.
• Knowledge of fashion trends and ability to guide clients in frame styling.
• Excellent command of the English language and professional telephone manner.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• West Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
